Welcome to the website of the Portslade Community Forum

Miss Lorette Mackie

It is with sadness that we who are the PCF have received the following from Lorette, via the TDC.

"After a period of ill health and through mutual agreement with TDC, I am leaving my position as CDW for Portslade and West Hove as of 28/02/15.

After 10 years in this job it has been a difficult decision to make but I am sure it is the right one for myself, TDC and the communities I have worked in.

I leave hoping that I have made a positive difference to the communities of Portslade and Portland Road.

Over the years, I have met and worked with some wonderful people – residents, local councillors, service providers and staff at TDC – all of whom I will not forget. I would like to thank you all for making my job so rewarding.

As the Editor of these pages it has been my priviledge to have worked with Lorette for nearly all of the 10 years which she spent amongst us.

It was a pity that her enthusiasm for any particular project on which was working wasn't always matched by those of our community on whose behalf she carried out her work.

I worked on many different projects with Lorette, including the setting up of this website and was aware of how much of her own time she devoted to her work, even after her hours had been reduced, due to cuts in funding.

Thank you Lorette, I hope you soon regain your health. We will miss you and please don't forget us here in Portslade.
